The 'U'
King of The Stage
Live @ Parkside Lounge NYC

The son of Nigerian immigrants, Ugochukwu Onyianta aka The 'U' was born and raised in Newark & East Orange, New Jersey. He was an excellent student from a young age and was always placed in Gifted/Talented Programs. He developed a strong fondness for story telling, writing, music, and poetry. After graduating St. Benedict's Prep School in 2006 he was accepted into Penn State University. Throughout his 5 years in college, The 'U' was a popular fixture in the Penn State Underground Music Scene opening up for artists such as: Meek Mill, 2 Chaniz, A$AP Ferg, Stalley, Vinny Cha$e, MC Lyte, Shawn Chrystopher, and Afro Man.

The 'U' graduated Penn State in 2011 with a degree in Sports Broadcast Journalism. Later that year, he was introduced to Super-Producer Chris 'Crisis' Hayes, who has worked with: Roc-a-Fella Records, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, The Notorious B.I.G., Ray J, Stevie J, and Macy Gray. From 2011-2014 he was signed to an independent label out of Williamsport, Pennsylvania called DyHard Entertainment. His debut album #NoDaysOff, was released in February of 2016 and is available now. The 'U' wants to establish himself amongst the Hip Hop elite and continue the tradition of phenomenal artists from the Garden State.
